Today the President of the Georgia Red Cross Society Natia Loladze and IFRC Head of country cluster for South Caucasus Olga Dzhumaeva visited Mestia Municipality where they were updated about the COVID-19 response and the needs of the local population. During the visit, they met with the Mestia branch staff members and volunteers and the local government officials as well.

With the support of USAID, the Georgia Red Cross Society delivered 672 food and 672 hygiene parcels to the locals of Mestia. It should be noted that all the vulnerable families living in the Lenjeri village have already received the GRCS parcels of basic necessities. Besides people living alone aged 70 and older will be assisted throughout the municipality. To prevent the risk of virus spread, the locals will be provided with hygiene rules and preventing measures.
