The President of the Georgia Red Cross Society awarded the volunteers with the certificates of appreciation.
Since the beginning of Coronavirus outbreak, the Georgia Red Cross Society has been supporting the population in a number of areas. All the GRCS activities are carried out with the help of the devoted volunteers, who are still working tirelessly to help our citizens.
Today, the President of the Georgia Red Cross Society, Natia Loladze and First Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi, Ilia Eloshvili, awarded the Red Cross volunteers with the certificates of appreciation for their courage and support.
These volunteers carried out various activities during the pandemic: They were Assisting vulnerable groups by distributing parcels of basic necessities and were spreading COVID-related recommendations in Georgian, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Abkhazian and Ossetian languages; They answered the hotline calls 24 hours a day. In partnership with Tbilisi City Hall, the GRCS volunteers collected food and hygiene parcels for the lonely older people in various hypermarkets of the country. Besides, custom checkpoints were monitored by our volunteers. They have been involved in the thermo screening process and are still supervising the PCR testing for timely diagnosis of the virus.
The Georgia Red Cross Society would like to thank each and every Red Cross volunteer for their outstanding dedication and courage during a challenging period!
