The staff member of the Georgia Red Cross Society Batumi branch, Giorgi Bolkvadze:
We visited 76-year-old Emine Beridze in Keda. Grandma Emine was very happy to see us – she welcomed us just as we were her grandchildren.
The conversation with the grandma turned out to be very interesting, she shared her worries and talked about news. Emine Beridze had received assistance from the Red Cross before and grandma said, that she often saw our president on TV, so she sent warmest wishes to her.
As she mentioned, living alone is a big challenge for her, but she is happy to receive warmth and care from those, who are around her, “Sometimes it’s more than a medicine” – tells us grandma Emine. I, as a Red Cross team member, am excited to be a part of another heartwarming story. Sometimes, when I talk to people, who live alone, I realize how important it is to take care of older people. That is our mission!
I love my job very much and I am happy to help others. I wish to see constant relationships between young and old generations. I would like to see how they share warmth and respect between each other.
We have to remember, that we are going to get older! ❤️
