May 8 is World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. The Red Cross Society of Georgia marked this important date together with its partners and volunteers.

On the occasion of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, the Red Cross Society of Georgia held an event dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross.

As part of the event, the President of the Red Cross Society of Georgia and Vice President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Natia Loladze, spoke about the organization’s activities, mission, and role in our country. An exhibition of archival photographs and humanitarian activities of the Red Cross Movement was also organized.

The event was attended by staff and volunteers of the Red Cross Society of Georgia, as well as delegations from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross in Georgia.

It is noteworthy that this year the Red Cross Society of Georgia celebrated this date together with its corporate supporters. During the event, symbolic awards were presented to representatives of all organizations that, during 2024–2025, were selflessly involved in the humanitarian initiatives of the Red Cross Society of Georgia and actively provided financial support to projects implemented across the country.
